No Comps Doors and dinner beginning at 6:00 PM “…a supergroup of virtusoso musicians…” – NPR Following in the footsteps of his former bandleader/mentor Miles Davis, saxophonist Bill Evans has always pushed the envelope, presenting an adventurous and bold mix of jazz, rock, and pop elements, with a funky backbone. Evans stepped into more adventurous territory with his 2006 Grammy nominated release Soulgrass, blending jazz, funk, and bluegrass into a seamless and wholly unique hybrid of quintessentially American styles. The band’s 2011 Dragonfly album, continues to blend the intricacies of bluegrass and jazz with the attitude and power of rock. Hailed by Jerry Garcia as “his favorite unknown guitarist,” Steve Kimock has been a staple of the Bay Area jam-band scene for decades. Kimock’s ability to articulate tone, melody and emotion into music combined with technical brilliance has earned Kimock the title “Guitar Monk”(Relix Magazine) for his commitment to guitar, and his ability to make it speak with its own original voice.  On violin Tim Carboneis a master of his instrument. Carbone has been a member of the progressive bluegrass band Railroad Earth since its inception in 2001.
