The Rodriguez Brothers is co-led by pianist/composer Robert and trumpeter/composer Michael. The brothers were born in NYC and grew up in, Miami FL. Inspired by their father, who is a drummer, the brothers began musical training at a very young age and continued their studies throughout high school at the New World School of the Arts.  Both Robert and Michael received full scholarships to the University of Miami, and subsequently moved to NYC. Since their arrival in New York, they have worked with a who’s who of jazz legends.

The Rodriguez Brothers band was formed in 2002 when they recorded their premier album, titled Introducing the Rodriguez Brothers. The music for that recording consisted of original compositions influenced by Afro-Cuban and traditional jazz elements.  The group soon began to perform at many prestigious venues and festivals. That album was followed by Mood Swing and their latest recording, Impromptu, which was nominated for a 2016 GRAMMY. Together, The Rodriguez Brothers present their kinetic masterfully rendered concept of “Jazz Latin,” incorporating traditional and modern Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, bolero and straightahead jazz flavors.
