Kuumbwa’s Jazz Camp is an annual day camp for students 12-18 years old who are interested in learning to play jazz. Students receive both one-on-one and group instruction and the camp focuses on live performance, basic improvisation, theory, soloing concepts/phrasing, along with jazz history and appreciation. Daily classes are held in the VAPA complex at Cabrillo College, with this culminating Jazz Camp Concert held on the Kuumbwa Jazz Center stage.
