Poi Rogers and Grey DeLisle with Eddie Clendening & The Blue Ribbon Boys
Poi Rogers is back at Kuumbwa Jazz Center to celebrate the release of their second album. Santa Cruz locals and national award winning musicians Carolyn Sills and Gerard Egan‘s unique take on American roots music blends western swing, Hawaiian steel guitar and Americana. They are both inductees in the Sacramento Western Swing Hall of Fame and one of them has been named the Academy of Western Artists Female Vocalist of the Year. They’ll be joined by the great David Roda on drums to celebrate this new album release.
Grey DeLisle is a Grammy winning singer/songwriter who is known as the most prolific voice actress in American animation history, having performed over 1500 cartoon voices since 1996. Her current release ‘The Grey Album’ has been called “a perfect throwback to the golden age of Nashville songbirds” by Pop Matters. She will be joined by the fabulous Eddie Clendening, who has appeared with greats like Scotty Moore and James Burton and starred as Elvis Presley in the hit Broadway musical “The Million Dollar Quartet”, and The Blue Ribbon Boys, Jacob Woodside (guitar) and Jonny Bowler (bass).
This will be one heck of a fun night of Americana, classic country and swing, with two lyrical ladies who have never been accused of taking themselves too seriously.
