Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1997, Micah Thomas moved to NYC after being awarded the Jerome L. Greene Fellowship from the Juilliard School, where he completed his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. Following the release of his debut trio album, Tide, and his first solo album, Piano Solo, Thomas became internationally recognized as a leading voice of his generation on the piano through the Grand Prix Award from Charles Cros Academy of France as well as accolades from The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, JazzTimes, and others.

His most recent trio album, Reveal, was named among ‘Best Jazz Albums of the Year’ by The New York Times. Shortly after, Thomas was named ‘25 for the Future’ by DownBeat Magazine, and other accolades. Thomas now tours with his Micah Thomas Trio as a steady member of the Immanuel Wilkins Quartet.
