Master Class: Ulysses Owens, Jr. – Jazz Big Band & Brushes for the Modern Drummer

In celebration of his latest book, renowned drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr. will be sharing his insights on supporting large ensembles, as well as digging into brush technique and all things jazz drumming. Jazz Big Band & Brushes for the Modern Drummer will also include tips on comping, rudiments, fills, and soloing. Owens has also gained special attention for his performances on GRAMMY award-winning albums by Kurt Elling and the Christian McBride Big Band, in addition to five GRAMMY-nominated albums. Both Jazziz and Rolling Stone magazines picked his most recent album Songs of Freedom, as a Top Ten Album for 2019.
