Master Class: Ricardo Peixoto – Brazilian Guitar

Ricardo Peixoto’s Brazilian Guitar will explore how various genres of Brazilian music can be expressed on the guitar. Uniquely Brazilian rhythms, harmonies, and chord voicings with open strings are utilized to create distinctive sounds in styles such samba, bossa nova, choro and baião. The class will analyze how the guitar closely translates and is integrated with the vocabulary of various Brazilian percussion instruments, allowing for a strong connection and interplay with the rhythm section, as well as in solo and vocal accompaniments.
