CANCELLED – Alfredo Rodriguez Trio

Alfredo Rodriguez is an internationally acclaimed Cuban jazz pianist. Born in Havana in 1985 and named for his father – a popular singer, television host, and entertainer – Rodriguez began his musical studies on percussion at the age of seven and training on the piano at age ten. After connecting with legendary producer Quincy Jones in 2006, Rodriguez has been making a name for himself as one of the most renowned pianists in contemporary jazz.

Rodriguez’s new album and project, Coral Way, embodies the sound of Miami: a melding of the Latin pop, timba, salsa, bachata, tango, reggaeton and bolero that permeates the city’s diverse community of Latinos living together while individually sharing their unique musical backgrounds. After moving to Miami in 2019, Rodriguez took note of the few collaborations and minimal cross-pollination between mainstream Latin music and Latin jazz. Coral Way serves as the connective tissue between these worlds – an artistic statement for the diverse Latin community to feel seen, heard and take pride in their history while creating a path forward of individuality through community.
