Acoustic guitarist, composer, and inventor Jack West creates highly rhythmic, modern acoustic music. With his innovative percussive approach, West simultaneously plays drums, bass, and guitar parts while fellow acoustic guitar virtuoso Walter Strauss interweaves melodies and rippin’ solos. Together they create a Percussive Guitar Duo that is “bracingly creative” (AllMusic.com), and rocks crazy hard for two unadorned acoustic guitars.

Jack West is an acoustic music pioneer creating a new style of acoustic music as compelling as other acoustic innovators like Leo Kottke, David Grisman, Rodrigo y Gabriela, or Michael Hedges. What makes West’s style unique is his seamless integration of percussive slapping with bass lines and chords that range from seriously funky to hard-driving to introspective, while always leaving room for improvisation.
