Returning to the Club Kuumbwa series are two of our celebrated local groups and artists. Steep Ravine is currently working on their forthcoming second album, The Pedestrian, combining elements of folk, jazz, bluegrass and pop. Kendra, 21, also specializes in creating refreshingly complex harmonies with a loop pedal, layering her extensive vocal range that can bring the rowdiest crowd to a standstill. Her lyricism relies heavily on imagery and intimacy, recalling various personal aspects of her life. This concert celebrates the release of Kendra’s debut album “Chestnut Street”, recorded independently in collaboration with the North Pacific Company. The album, featuring all original work, was recorded to tape at UCSC’s Kresge Town Hall, relying on the venue’s acoustics for natural reverb.
