International Jazz Day with Kim Nalley

In the spirit of UNESCO’s International Jazz Day and in collaboration with Kuumbwa Jazz, UCSC Humanities celebrates International Jazz Day 2016 featuring a headline performance by IntJazzDay_2016jazz vocalist Kim Nalley. The program begins with a fascinating conversation on the global historical role of jazz on race, class, and culture led by expert panelists, including UCSC Humanities Dean Tyler Stovall, UCSC History Professor Eric Porter and jazz singer/historian Kim Nalley.
