The String Keys Coincidence features keyboardist Dale Ockerman, violinist Stuart Wilson, and bassist Dan Robbins, and spotlights a small ensemble format, allowing them to focus and improvise on a wide range of material, from classic rock to jazz standards. Locally renowned multi-instrumentalist Ockerman is known for being a member of the Doobie Brothers from 1988-1996, as well at the White Album Ensemble (a Santa Cruz group that has been reproducing Beatles music for twenty years). Ockerman has been a stalwart of the Santa Cruz music scene since 1969, and also boasts Quicksilver Messenger Service and numerous New Orleans musical luminaries amongst his collaborators. Wilson is a classically-trained violinist with an impressive list of credits spanning rock, jazz, and theater. Robbins has played and recorded in settings ranging from solo, duo, and trio, to big band and orchestra, and is known as a virtuoso on electric and acoustic bass.
