Michael O’Neill Quintet with Tony Lindsay
Advance ticket sales for this show have ended.
Tickets will be available at the door starting at 6:00 PM
This concert is a special collaboration between Tony Lindsay and the members of the Michael O’Neill Quintet. Lindsay was Santana’s lead singer for more than twenty years but unbeknownst to many, he’s also an excellent jazz vocalist. In an age in which bands come together for a gig or two, or even a tour, it is unusual to find a group of musicians with the longevity of the Michael O’Neill Quintet. Alan Hall has been the group’s drummer since its beginning in 2001. Dan Feiszli has also been involved from the start, initially as recording engineer and co-producer, and now as the regular bassist. Pianist John R. Burr has been with the band since 2006 and trumpeter Erik Jekabson joined in 2011, making him the newest member of the band. With this collaboration, Lindsay, informed by his years with Santana and by his strong R&B roots, brings a very rhythmic approach to the up- and medium-tempo songs and a warm and earthy feel to the ballads.
