–––

In her latest quintet configuration, internationally acclaimed jazz violinist Jenny Scheinman presents music she wrote and honed in the wilderness of northern California during the shutdown. This drum-less ensemble revels in full acoustic resonance and draws on Scheinman’s early string influences John McLaughlin’s Shakti, Django Reinhardt, and wild west cinema. The setlist will also include a handful of her older cherished compositions in celebration of twenty-five years of band-leading, and a return to the stage after two years of covid hibernation. Scheinman has released ten albums of original music, has been featured on numerous Grammy-winning recordings, and has worked closely with a wide range of jazz and Americana artists including Jason Moran, Bill Frisell, Madeleine Peyroux, Nels Cline, Ron Miles, Allison Miller, Lucinda Williams, and Lou Reed. Her bi-coastal all-star crew includes includes pianist Carmen Staaf, bassist Todd Sickafoose, saxophonist Beth Schenck, and guitarist Matt Wrobel.
