Christie McCarthy & Friends

Award-winning troubadour and environmentalist Christie McCarthy will be joined by Jimmy Norris, Tracy Parker, Patti Maxine, Rhan Wilson (and a few other surprise guests) for a relaxed and soulful night of prolific folk-rock, featuring tracks off Christie’s new record, Big Picture, as well as some of her favorite cover songs. Good vibes, great tunes, rich vocals – the net proceeds from this concert will benefit Project Purr, a highly successful, local spay/neuter/adoption program.

Christie has written, recorded and produced five original full-length records and performed for hundreds of audiences at diverse venues across the country, including the Ryman Auditorium (the original Grand Ole Opry). Her songs have been featured on high-profile compilations, and in movies and TV.

Her newest record, Big Picture, features 12 original songs that reflect our complicated times and offer hope and understanding. Recorded at Wind River Studio in the Santa Cruz mountains with a top shelf band of local legends (including Jimmy Norris, Keith Greeninger, Yuji Tojo and Patti Maxine), Big Picture combines folk, rock and blues to deliver a smart, warm and engaging record reminiscent of the ‘70’s Laurel Canyon era.

Christie is a wordsmith whose well-crafted storytelling offers up an understanding of the human condition that’s delivered by “striking, rich, whisky-honey” vocals. Simultaneously powerful and intimate, Big Picture takes the listener on a reassuring journey through love, loss and finally trust and acceptance.
