Ray Brown is one of Santa Cruz's greatest musical treasures. As an educator, he has taught jazz improvisation and arranging at Cabrillo College for over twenty-five years. His experience as a professional musician and composer/arranger, including touring with the Stan Kenton Big Band and conducting the orchestra for a recent Roy Hargrove recording, further enhances his teaching with the authority of someone who knows the jazz world as a performer.
