Vocalist Diane Schuur has been touted as "the new first lady of jazz." She has been nominated five times for Grammy awards, winning twice in the "Best Jazz Vocalist" category. Schuur is a high-energy performer strongly influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington, but with a magnetic style all her own. She is also a talented pianist, capable of fiery solos or sensitive accompaniment. Her latest recording is entitled The Best of Diane Schuur.
