Well-known for his past association with Chick Corea, bassist John Pattitucci is quite familiar to fans of contemporary jazz. His string work provided the sturdy foundation for Herbie Hancock's Miles Davis/John Coltrane tribute tour last year. Patitucci's musical scope ranges from calm to burning, with a melodic sense that never loses sight of the groove. His band features saxophonist Tim Ries, pianist Ed Simon, and drummer Antonio Sanchez. Communion is his latest recording.
